Software Unlimited, Inc. may update this Privacy Policy from time to time without notice. Therefore, it is your responsibility to periodically review this Privacy Policy, accessible from the Help menu in the School Accounting System, for the most current version. If this Privacy Policy is updated, your continued use of Software Unlimited, Inc.’s website or the School Accounting System and any subsequent submission of personal information by you will be deemed your conclusive acceptance of the most recent version of this Privacy Policy.

How We Protect Your Information

We take every precaution to protect our users' information online at www.su-inc.com and off-line, including the transfer, security, and storage of School Accounting System databases. Only an employee who needs the information to perform a specific job (for example, an account executive or a customer service representative) is granted access to your personally identifiable information.

Where transfer of personal information is required, including School Accounting System databases, Software Unlimited, Inc. has created a secure website using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption to transmit this data. This is done to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of the information you are transmitting. Once the data is uploaded to Software Unlimited, Inc., the data source is obfuscated to protect sensitive information, including but not limited to Social Security Numbers, birth dates, email addresses, mail server, and direct deposit bank account numbers. The original School Accounting System databases are stored in a secure area while encrypted data is stored on protected Software Unlimited, Inc. servers. School Accounting System-Online customer databases and backups are stored on secured servers, in a secured facility, by a Software-As-A-Service (SaaS) hosting company following N+1 redundancy practices and SAS70 protocols and procedures. Only Software Unlimited, Inc. Department Directors, or other Software Unlimited, Inc. employees given Director approval, are permitted access to the original databases.

Consent

Software Unlimited, Inc. will obtain your consent before collecting, using, or disclosing your personal information for any purpose other than as identified in this Privacy Policy. We will make reasonable efforts to ensure you understand how your personal information may be used or disclosed. Your consent may be provided to Software Unlimited, Inc. orally, in writing, or electronically, either personally or through an authorized individual. You may withdraw or refuse to provide your consent to Software Unlimited, Inc. by giving reasonable notice. However, any such withdrawal or refusal of consent may prevent Software Unlimited, Inc. from providing you with service and support.

Use, Disclosure, and Retention

Original and/or obfuscated School Accounting System databases may be used for internal research and testing of new software features. Only Software Unlimited, Inc. Department Directors, or other Software Unlimited, Inc. employees given Director approval, are permitted access to sensitive, personal information. Before we use or disclose your personal information for any other purpose we will obtain your consent.

Software Unlimited, Inc. will retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required for legal or business purposes.

Software Unlimited, Inc. is accountable for the protection of all personal information under our control. The responsibility of ensuring compliance with policies and practices set forth in this Privacy Policy has been assigned to Department Directors and the Business System Analyst.
